Christopher Ellis Director of Data Analytics
Footprint Investigations are delighted to share the appointment of Christopher Ellis PG Cert as Director of Data Analytics.
Christopher has worked for Footprint Investigations for over 5 years, where he oversees the Data Analytics team.
He has written hundreds of cell site analysis reports for both prosecution and defence. Christopher has over 16 years of experience working with investigations, and he has used telecoms data in numerous criminal investigations. Christopher has conducted analysis within the public sector and has worked for West Midlands Police, the Central Motorway Police Group and the Central England Trading Standards Authorities. He has also worked in the private sector conducting investigations into insurance fraud.
In 2017 Christopher lead the civil investigation into the Grenfell Tower Fire, where he worked with and directed a team of analysts to produce a comprehensive report around the incident. This work was requested by one of the largest insurance companies in the UK, who specifically requested the services of Christopher himself, due to his extensive research and investigations background.
Christopher has previously used call data and cell site to assist both criminal and civil investigations. In 2022 he studied the Level 7 Post Graduate Certificate in Wireless Communications course, accredited by the University of Wolverhampton, and recognised by the industry, where he studied Radio Frequency Engineering, Design & Implementation of Cellular Networks and Advanced Wireless Technologies.
Christopher has significant experience and knowledge primarily in the following technical areas, investigations involving telecoms data, interpretation of call data records, analysis, and interpretation of OSINT data for use in criminal and civil investigations. He also has experience in the interpretation and analysis of ANPR data as well as the use of digital intelligence software for physical handset downloads.
Christopher also works in conjunction with a drugs expert in relation to our drugs analytical expert valuation service which is based on mobile phone evidence.
Chris will continue his role as an expert witness in the field of Cell Site Analysis while also taking on the responsibility of ensuring our analytical processes stand up to ISO 17025 accreditation.
